Long Eaton occurs as town in Derbyshire, England, effectively the suburban area of Nottingham. A town grew in a area of the lace-making and railway wagon industries in the nineteenth century (the town prevarication on the Midland Main Line). The notable building in the town is the Palladian Long Eaton Hall.
A original draft of the Local Government Act 1972 had considered moving Long Eaton into Nottinghamshire.
